It’s January 3 and I promise that today, yes — TODAY, will be my first day of fulfilling all of my goals for 2012. One of my goals, yes, for every year actually, is to get fit. I need to be healthy. I have been building stress from work and all of my extra-curricular activities that I don’t get to exercise and have that ‘time’ for building strength and my body’s resistance. So today, I am searching for activities that I can do this year to make my body more active.
As for those who have followed my blog for the past three years, I am “ms. yoga”. I love practicing yoga. I actually never thought that I would love an activity that was not “running”, but viola! I fell in love with yoga. One of my recent finds (my friend told me about it) is a type of yoga called Anti-gravity yoga. No, I haven’t tried it yet, but I plan to.
So what is this Anti-gravity yoga? Anti-gravity yoga was developed by Christopher Harrison, who is the founder of the acrobatic performance company with the same name. His mission is to combine yoga, athletics and artistry. I have seen pictures of people doing anti-gravity yoga, and it looks difficult and FUN! I love the challenge, so I am actually excited to try it out. The program (Anti-gravity yoga) is accredited by international fitness certification agencies, such as AFAA, ACE and CYQ.
Anti-gravity yoga was introduced late last year here in the Philippines and it was Beyond Yoga, who introduced it here. I’m sure a lot of you are curious to learn more about this style of yoga. I found this video to give you a glimpse on what this style is all about.
If you would want to check out and try this Anti-gravity yoga, check out the schedule of the classes at Beyond Yoga (http://www.igobeyondyoga.com/)
