I have been seriously contemplating on what to do after I give birth. I’m at Week 16 of my pregnancy and even if my due date is still after 5 more months, I am already creating plans. I recently resigned from my day job due to my delicate condition. To be honest with you, I haven’t done any form of physical activity since the doctor has not allowed me to move at all
Being the active person that I am, I am so intent on getting well since I already want to attend some pre-natal yoga classes, do brisk walking or even go swimming. It’s such a bummer that I couldn’t do anything. After this pregnancy, I have decided to take yoga seriously and even become a teacher probably someday.
There are already teacher training classes in the Philippines. This January 61 to February, 2013, One Flow Yoga in cooperation with the Association of Yoga and Meditation – India will conduct a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course in Makati City, Philippines. They invited Yogacharya Chetan Mahesh and his team from Rishikesh, India to share the authentic and more in-depth knowledge about the age old practice of yoga.
The aim of this intensive course is to train and certify 20 up to 30 serious yoga practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of yoga. The curriculum does not only focus on the physical aspect by intensifying the poses or “Asanas”, but also concentrates more on meditations, awareness about its health benefits to practitioners, as well as the philosophical aspects of yoga.
One Flow Yoga, has been in the health and wellness industry since 2010. Their goal is to provide people an alternative and a holistic approach to fitness programs that will create union between the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions of an individual. They believe that deeper appreciation and a proper yoga practice could really help an individual achieve a balance within, and that it will eventually resonate to other individuals creating a fully-functional society where its citizens contribute in nation-building. Hence, their vision is to make yoga more accessible to more average Filipinos by creating opportunities like the upcoming Teacher Training Course that will produce more qualified yoga teachers to popularize the practice. We also made the price of the course relatively cheaper than the usual Yoga Teacher Training Course as part of this vision. They are also granting four (4) scholarships to those seeking assistance.
I really hope that they have another run of this teacher training program during the latter part of 2013. I would love to join the training sessions. For those who are interested and for further details about the training, please visit the following:
