I’m actually a Dove girl. I use Dove deodorant, because I love the smell. I also use Dove body wash. I used to buy the green variant, but now that I’m preggy and have sensitive skin, I use this sensitive skin variant which I bought from Duty Free and I love it.
This week, I got a call from my friend and she heard about a short play called Unspeakably Yours: The Underarm Monologues. I heard about it, and that it was sponsored by Dove the previous week from a PR agency, but I only decided to go when my officemates told me that she had tickets and some of my friends wanted to go, too. So, I agreed as I was curious as to what the show was. The tickets said 6:30 pm, so we all had to rush to Greenhills from our office. Even if we were there on time, the show started at 8:00 pm. 🙁 The event was organized by Dove, and they were still waiting for some media people to come in. Anyway, my friends and I patiently waited and after an hour and a half, the host, Cesca Litton opened the show.
The topic was of course, our underarms (duh! :>). The show started off a bit ‘slow’, but picked up, and was quite amusing and funny (although my husband didn’t care so much— i think the show was really made for women). The writers, Joel Trinidad and Cathy Azanza-Dy did quite an amazing job at filling in the details of what our underarms would say if they could talk. One of my favorite part was the monologue about how our boyfriends/husbands feel about our underarms. Another funny exchange was the ‘arch-enemy’ when they mentioned that Enthusiasm was the enemy of our under arms, since we tend to show enthusiasm by always raising our arms. 🙂 That part was hilarious!
The show was quite unique. I so much wanted to try the new products from Dove (after all that prepping and encouragement to take care and be proud of our underarms) and was happy that they mentioned about giving samples to the audience, but they didn’t. 🙁 Anyway, it was a cool experience. Kudos to Dove and upstart productions for the great concept!
