I have been seeing quite a few friends who have decided to become vegan or vegetarian recently. I read more about going vegan and I found a great article that lists down all the benefits: Why go Vegetarian or Vegan from VegetarianTimes.com. I was curious and wanted to see the effects of going vegan, so I decided to try it out.
While going through posts in facebook, I came across a company called V Kitchen Manila that delivers either Raw Vegan, Vegan or Vegetarian meals to your home or office. I was excited so I contacted them right away via Facebook. Ordering from them is pretty easy. All you need to do is follow the instructions in this link: V Kitchen Manila. Their deliveries are usually the evening. My first day was Monday so the meals were delivered Sunday evening.
I received the meals in a brown bag with a list of the meals inside it that looks like this…
If you have any questions about the food, you can easily message them on Facebook or text / viber them.
I really love the food that they sen. Every day, I get food for breakfact, lunch, a snack and dinner. Meals for 5 days is at Php 2750. Last week, I got a variety or dishes from vegan burgers, to quesadillas to something that looked liked breaded oriental chicken, but was actually cauliflower!
The meals were labeled really well. You will be able to determine if the container was intended to be eaten for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner and if you were supposed to heat it or serve it cold. Most of the food though should be refrigerated, but it is important that you read the labels.
One of my favorite days of the past week was this day where I had Breakfast Quesadillas for breakfast, No Meat Sloppy Joe for lunch, Char Grilled Cabbage Steak (which looked weird but was surprisingly delicious!!!) for Snack and Vegan Egg Foo Yong served with Organic Brown Rice for dinner.
Last week, I tried the Vegetarian meals. I felt lighter and more energetic. I didn’t lose weight though. I gained a few pounds, but I think because my body was still adjusting to the food. I felt healthier though. This week, I will be trying the Vegan diet! I’m so excited for it. Let’s see how it goes!
