Today, more and more Filipinos are exploring the healthy lifestyle that comes from doing yoga. With this masterful art of toning the body comes not only physical well-being, but emotional and psychological healing as well. Yoga in the Wild, a book featuring the transformative power of yoga in one’s life, will be launched this February 13, 2012, Monday at 5 in the afternoon.

This is so good. There are now a lot of options offered in Ortigas if you want to join the fitness wagon. For yoga, aside from Yoga Manila, where I go to to practice Ashtanga yoga, there is this new Yoga center called Core Yoga. It is located at AIC Burgundy Empire Tower, which is right across Robinson’s Galleria.
Sharing this really cool event form Beyond Yoga. The event is called Hatha 2 Yoga with Josie Say, where the boundaries between yoga and hip hop are shattered.
It’s January 3 and I promise that today, yes — TODAY, will be my first day of fulfilling all of my goals for 2012. One of my goals, yes, for every year actually, is to get fit. I need to be healthy. I have been building stress from work and all of my extra-curricular activities that I don’t get to exercise and have that ‘time’ for building strength and my body’s resistance. So today, I am searching for activities that I can do this year to make my body more active.
Before we start yoga classes, our yoga teacher normally talks to us about anything under the sun. She told us that she loves to surf, and mentioned that yoga and surfing complement each other. If you want to enjoy both activities in one weekend, join the Surf and Yoga Weekend.
I have always wanted to attend the SurfYogaSamba event, but it has always conflicted with my schedule. Boohoo! But anyway, I’m sure you may have a better chance of attending this, so I’m sharing the details of the event. The Flow:SurfYogaSamba weekend retreat, for those who’s hearing about this for the first time, is a boutique three-day experience that will spark your spirit and leave your body and mind relaxed and revitalized! Learn Vinyasa Yoga and Yin Yoga with Monica Manzano, surf the waves with Luke Landrigan, dance to the samba beats of Escola de Samba de Manila, nourish your body with delicious gourmet meals and raw food snacks and witness the spectacle of thai lantern lighting.
It’s so funny that I think I have never written about the yoga center that I go to. My “yoga home” is actually at Yoga Manila in Ortigas. I go and practice at least twice to thrice a week. For those who work or live near Ortigas, this is one of the places you should consider trying out if you want to try out yoga. Yoga Manila offers Ahstanga classes. The studio is located inside Chi Spa of the Edsa Shangri-la hotel.
I mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to undergo a yoga teacher training course (ANY Yoga Teacher training course) that would deepen my understanding of my body. With this, of course, I would be challenging myself to do the poses better and with the right form.
I’m glad to say that I have been regularly attending my yoga classes in Yoga Manila and I have been injecting some Plana Forma and running sessions, too. I know that I have strengthened my body, and I would want to challenge my body more and deepen my yoga practice. I was glad that I got a message from my friend, Tenten, informing me of a Yoga Immersion and Teacher Training by Yoga Circle.
Ashtanga Yoga Chants
May 13
Whenever we begin our practice at Yoga Manila, we have chants that we say. Also, after practicing, we also have a yoga chant that we say as one class. For those that have attended yoga classes in Yoga Manila, you may want to use this as a guide so that when you come to class next time, you know it already by heart.
Flow Yoga Manila Experience
May 10
I’ve been trying out different gyms, yoga and fitness centers offering various fitness activities ever since early this year. Last year, I wanted to try out this place called Flow Yoga, which was a yoga center near our place. Finally, after getting into the fitness grove again, I got to try out Flow Yoga Manila.
