There are times when I feel down. There are times when I think the world is moving so fast. During times like these, I turn to yoga. I don’t know what it is about this activity that makes me feel better after. After practicing, everything seems clearer. I notice the little things that make this life wonderful. Sometimes, we focus our attention on things that we don’t have, when we should focus on the things that we should be thankful for. So with this, I have made it a point to make yoga a part of my life.
Recently, I attended the launch of a Yoga Mat Brand. I haven’t really gone to a lot of fitness events recently, but it was really great that I decided to go to this one. The yoga mat is called Cuca. The name is quite unique and is derived from Kuka, the Incan Goddess of Happiness and Well-Being.
Cuca was established by a gorgeous lady, Priscilla Aliwarga. I met Priscilla during the launch and is she very inspiring. Being a woman entrepreneur myself, I love meeting women entrepreneurs because I get to hear different stories on how these women started their own businesses. Priscilla is a Yoga alliance Registered Teacher. Cuca yoga mats is what she established after searching for the perfect yoga mat.
What makes CUCA yoga mats different from other mats is that it is made from thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). This material stays clean even after repeated use and is even biodegradable. I have tried to use the mat and I love that it’s super non-slip. I sweat a lot and one of the hassles that I go through is that I usually can’t maintain a good grip on the mat. With Cuca, I have noticed that it is easier to balance and maintain that grip.
The mat is also created for people of all sizes and height. The length is 183 cm and the width is at 61 cm. Priscilla was telling us that this was one of the pains of people. They would own mats where their feet would go over the length of the mat. The mat is also light, having a weight of just 1.3kg. The thickness is also perfect at 6mm thick. Priscilla told us that she tested mats of different thickness and she found that 6mm is the perfect thickness.
I also love that this mat is reversible. I love the colors. Each mat is just so catchy because of the color!
If you want to purchase these mats, they are available at the branches of Royal Sporting House here in the Philippines. Each mat is around Php 3000+.
Cuca is one of the best and the reasonably priced yoga mats that I have seen in the Philippines. This may be your perfect partner if you plan to start practicing again this 2015. Let’s achieve an empowered life this 2015!
