100Diets.com: Comprehensive Site on Dieting

It’s summer once again and I can feel people become more serious about weight loss than ever before. I know of friends who starve themselves during this season. I also know of friends who kill themselves with working out to the point of getting sick. When we go on a diet, or when we exercise, we have to be sure to stay on the safe site. A good site that discusses diets, diet pills, diet food, diet plans and anything and everything about “dieting” is 100Diets.com.

In an online survey in the site, it was interesting to note that the leading method of people when trying to lose weight is through using diet pills. In the past week, I’ve been researching about diet pills, and have found out that the pills nowadays are not as detrimental to one’s health. The diet pills of years ago contained harmful ingredients that would cause one to suffer palpitations, dehydration and other even more shocking negative effects. For the diet pills manufactured today, they are made of natural ingredients that can help you lose weight and even boost one’s energy and stamina.

Diet pills can help suppress your appetite. These pills can give you energy to take you through your workout. I normally hear people say that after a long day’s work, they skip exercise since they are so tired. Well, with these diet pills, you do not have to skip working out.

Some of these diet pills boost your metabolism even without any physical activity. Others address a specialized need. For example, if a person tends to take in mostly carbohydrates, there are pills that help your body block these carbs. Others help enhance the digestive system. While others contain tons of fiber that help give you that full feeling. These pills are usually taken before meals so that with just a little amount of food, you feel full.

There are a lot of diet pills that you can buy in our local stores, like GNC and Healthy options. Others are sold online. Just be sure that you read the label and check on the ingredients. Research on the product well before trying it.

Tip 2: Be Sure to Balance Your Diet by Eating Enough Complex Carbohydrates!

The human body requires a diverse range of nutrients to function properly. The person connected to the body uses the carbohydrates consumed to provide energy for normal day to day functioning. That includes the energy required to maintain life as well as the particular energy required for the person to be able to do the things that he/she has planned for a given day.

Rice Carbohydrates

People consume many carbohydrates throughout the course of the day in the form of bread, pasta and cereals; grains and rice; sweets and deserts; and fruits and vegetables. Many of those foods can fit into more than one of the listed groups, but the one common thing they all share is the classification as carbohydrates. There is a further breakdown among the carbohydrates into those known as simple carbohydrates—white sugar, white flour, and products made from those substances, and complex carbohydrates—whole grains, wheat flour, fruits, vegetables, and products made from those substances.

While consumption of the simple carbohydrates is fine in moderation, many of those items are full of empty calories—devoid of necessary nutrients and only good for producing energy. The complex carbohydrates, on the other hand, contain essential nutrients, fiber, and sometimes protein.

It is best to balance your daily intake by including foods from all food groups and being sure that you consume complex carbohydrates. You will feel better, have more energy, and your body will thank you!

hCG Diet and how it works?

While i’m trying to get rid of the hCG in my body, people are actually injecting it into theirs to lose weight? It’s just recently that I found out about this diet. Have you heard of the hCG diet?
HCG diet philippines

Let’s start with definition of terms. I’m sure those who are pregnant or have been pregnant are familiar with the human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG. This is the substance that is present in the urine and blood of a pregnant person. hCG is a hormone produced in pregnancy that is made by the developing embryo after conception and later by a part of the placenta. Its functions is to secure that the developing fetus receives the nutrition that it needs to grow and for the placenta to develop well.

In the hCG diet, the nutrients that the hCG gives is totally separate from the nutrients that we get from our daily food intake. It is said that stored fat and those extra pounds are often there because we eat more than we burn and use in our daily activities. They say that once hCG is in a person’s body, it releases our stored fats and feeds it to the growing fetus, if a woman does not consume enough for her growing baby.

They say when hCG is present in the body (early during a woman’s pregnancy up to 14 weeks), some pregnant women even lose weight and are oftentimes not that hungry.

Dr. Simeons is the founder of the hCG diet. He toyed with the idea of using hCG as a tool for losing weight. He published a paper and developed a diet plan for those who wanted to use the drug as a weight-loss tool.

How does the hCG diet work?

A round of treatment lasts a minimum of 26 days. A daily injection of hCG is done in 23 of those days. The dieter may request a treatment to last as long as 43 days (with 40 injections) given that the dieter loses a maximum of 34 to 40 pounds (15 to 18 kilograms) before the given duration. No hCG injections are given for the last three days of any treatment period so that it can be cleansed out of the body completely before they start a normal diet. (It also takes about three days for hCG’s effects to “kick in.”) Dr. Simeons said that immunity to hCG is eveident after 40 days that is why a dieter needs to take a 6 week break from the diet after before starting another 40 day treatment.

Dieters are instructed to take only 500 calories a day after the third shot. The logic behind it is that Once the hCG is in the dieter’s body, it will now release the stored fats to give the extra calories that the body needs to get it through the day. Once a dieter drops the extra pounds, the treatment must has to be stopped since hCG can only release the excess fats.

Can these shots be given just like that?
Well, the FDA of the US approved of this as a fertility drug. This hCG shots tricks the body with the presence of a pregnancy-related hormone; therefore, your body may help you get pregnant. Aside from fertility, the FDA doesn’t approve hCG use for any other reason, including weight loss.

As for the side effects, aside from the fact that you will be feeling like you’re pregnant, there will be an increased risk of blood clots, headaches, restlessness and depression.

My Personal Thoughts
True or not, i’m scared with tampering with the hCG levels in my body. This is especially after knowing that I had placenta accreta. Injecting hCG would trigger a drastic increase again. And besides, I don’t think I lost weight during the early weeks of my pregnancy. I’m not a heavy eater. I probably ate 500 calories during that time and I didn’t lose a pound. I just believe that hCG should be used only as a fertility medication or for other diseases that it can cure. But that’s just me.

If you’re a risk taker and you really, really need to lose that weight, go and try this diet.

General Motors Diet: Day 1

It’s summer time and a lot of things to do are on people’s minds, but on top of their list, especially for women, is to lose weight. I am your typical lass – works from 8 to 6pm, tries to squeeze in a run in the pm in the gym or in the UP oval, comes home to eat, and blogs afterwards. I used to be a ‘superwoman’ when I was in my teens. I think a lot of us are. We just don’t understand where we get our energy to do things with great zeal and enthusiasm and how I can I forget, we eat our hearts out and never get fat!

As we age though, it’s more difficult to shed off pounds. These succeeding entries will be about my journey through this first diet. I will have many experiential posts like this in the future, which will be mostly what I will feel and think throughout a certain activity so that other’s may be guided on what to expect.

So today is my first day on the General Motors Diet. This 7 day diet is designed for a target weight loss of 10-17 lbs per week. It will also improve your attitudes and emotions because of its systematic cleansing effects. The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the food eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in caloric value – we’ll see about that.

This diet can supposedly be used as often as you like without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter because you will be lighter by at least 10 lbs. You will have an abundance of energy and an improved disposition.

    DAY 1

It’s Day 1 for me and today, I have to eat all fruits except bananas. Eating a lots of melons is suggested – especially watermelon and cantaloupes (or the melon to us pinoys). If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing three lbs. on the first day are very good.

Rationale behind it:
On Day One you are preparing your system for the upcoming program. Your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits. Fruits are nature’s perfect food. They provide everything you could possibly want to sustain life with total balance and variety.

Personal Experience
Female: Start weight: 134 lbs. at 5’4”. Fat Percentage: 31.4% Water %: 50.2%
In the morning, I had half a medium sized cantaloupe and a bowl of grapes. Breakfast was around 7:00 am. At around 9:30 am, I was already hungry. I ate a few pieces of grapes. For lunch, 1 piece of pear. The only time I cheated was during lunch with a cup of coffee with non-fat milk with 2 packets of Splenda. The diet only allows you to have black coffee or tea. For mid am snack, I had a piece of orange and for dinner, I had three slices of a small cantaloupe with a few pieces of grapes.

You will experience feeling a little bit colder than usual. I went to the gym after work, around 6:00 pm, and after 5 minutes on the treadmill, I felt my abdomen cramp up. I also felt lactic acid build up on my lower leg after just a few minutes. I just continued walking to complete the 1 hour goal I had but I didn’t get to run.

I’m so glad day 1 is over. We’ll see on what happens tomorrow. I can’t wait to eat warm food. :(
