Just wanted to share this with Yoga enthusiasts! 🙂
I have heard of a lot of people going to India, Thailand and the US to undergo a yoga teacher training program to further enhance their skills. I came across Yoga Teacher Training San Diego that some of you might be interested in joining. This is Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga.
They are offering a three month program for those who can stay in San Diego longer, and a six week program for those who need to leave or fly back to their city or country right away. Here are the schedules of the San Diego Yoga.
3 Month Program
March 18 to June 3, 2011
5 Week Program
July 5 – August 12, 2011
3 Month Program
September 9 – December 2, 2011
I think it’s important to check on what the requirements are for you to join the Yoga Teacher Training classes. These are:
– You must attend 24 Yoga Teacher Training Workshops
– You must take 10 Meditation classes. These classes are offered on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Weekend workshops also available. Check out this link for more details.
– You should undergo 8 Hours of one-on-one mentorship meetings.
– You should undergo assisting a teacher and offering adjustments to yoga students during class.
– You should participate and observe in public yoga classes.
For each of the program (if you complete 200 hours), you will be able to get a Yoga Alliance certification. This will allow you to teach yoga. Using studios for class or even for self-practice is quite costly. With enrolling into these programs, you will be able to use the studio at Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga Sudio for free for three months while listening to relaxing music.
For those who are not really planning to teach yoga, you can attend their classes. They offer unlimited sessions at $65 a month.
If you’re in San Diego, California, just drop by and achieve all the benefits of practicing yoga!
Controversies from yoga gurus claiming patent and copyright on certain yoga poses and asanas paved the way for India to build a database of these yoga poses. These poses have been used and passed on from generation to generation. After the controversies that brewed up after Bikram Choudhury claimed some poses, there were 1300 poses already uploaded into the database known as Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL).

When I first tried doing yoga two years ago, the first style of yoga that I got to try was Bikram Yoga. It wasn’t easy, but it was definitely addicting. I admired the men and women in that class. They exuded a certain calmness in mind, body and spirit, but at the same time, a level of confidence and control was seen. I wanted to be like that. I wanted to feel that way.
There are a lot of men and women out there who have heard and seen the benefits of all styles of yoga, from Bikram, Ashtanga, Iyengar and to Vinyasa Flow, but have not dared to try a single class. I tell you, just by watching these yogi and yoginis go through their poses is quite an amazing sight to behold. Seeing people go through demanding and rigorous yoga poses will inspire you. This coming November 7, 2010, at 2 pm in the afternoon, do try to watch the 2010 Philippine Yoga Asana Championship at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.
Of course for the experts in this field, please do join and share your talent with the world. A lot of Filipinos are curious to see what yoga and these yoga poses can do for the body. For those who wish to join, you can contact Bikram Yoga Manila at 889-0126 or email the organizers at email@example.com to get the forms.
Tickets will be available for sale starting 2nd week of October at any Bikram Yoga Manila studio (www.bikramyogamanila.com).

Yoga is fast becoming one of the most popular trends in fitness and relaxation techniques nowadays. It brings about better body movement coordination, body image awareness, and releases different forms of anxiety. Today, not only adults can enjoy the good effects of the relaxation technique. We are now introducing to you, kids’ yoga.
Children all over the world are now exposed to the phenomenon of kids’ yoga. It is an excellent activity for kids, because it allows them to discover endless feats of their imagination. They can enter a whole new world when doing kids’ yoga. They can become whatever their imagination lets them be. They can be dogs, cats, horses, dragons, lions, trees, and many others.
The positive effects of kids’ yoga not only encompasses as a fun activity for them. Kids’ yoga also exposes them to the importance of good health and well being at a young age. Anxiety is common in children and it comes in various forms such as temper tantrums, thumb sucking, or picking up fights. Kids’ yoga helps them channel all this negative energies into positive outcomes, allowing them to relax and build friendships with other children.
Parents and schools from different places are now accepting this innovative idea and applying it to their children and students. Kids’ yoga can now be brought to your own home! With Rachael Freeland’s new Magic Yoga Mat, parents can have kids’ yoga in the comfort of their own home, in parks, even at school. It helps parents help out start the children’s imagination, and after a while, their own fantasies will show through in kids’ yoga activities.
It is about time to let our tykes discover the wonders of being able to express oneself, release stresses and anxieties, and relax with kids’ yoga. It is a marvel in the growth and development of all children!

When I practice yoga, I could not do it with just using my mat. I really sweat a lot when I exercise, so when I use just my mat, it gets really slippery. It’s hard for me to balance because of all the sweat in my mat.
I went to the different yoga stores in the metro and I saw this towel like product, Yogitoes, with rubber beads on one side of the towel. I saw my yoga ‘classmates’ with towels like these and just like any beginner during that time, I wanted to try all the ‘gears’ and ‘yoga stuff’ other more advanced students had in our class. I checked the price and I wondered why it costs Php 2500 – it was so expensive for a towel.
I continued to use a beach towel but then it became all clumpy and would fold during class. This would take me out of my concentration in perfecting the poses. I decided to invest and get the Yogitoes Mat Towel.
It was the best exercise investment that I have ever made. The material is strong and the rubber beads really cling on to the mat. It also absorbs the sweat so I don’t have to worry about slipping.
It also comes in different colors and designs!
For those into yoga, I would suggest that you buy this. It really will help you concentrate on your poses and on relaxation rather than worrying about your sweat or on slipping!
For those interested, please click on the contact us tab on the main page. We can get you a 10% discount.
